After a dance event video went viral on social media, Pakistan's Khyber Medical University (KMU) sent a "serious notice" to Peshawar's NCS University System.The university requested an explanation from the NCS director and referred to the incident as "unethical and immoral" in a press release.
The Dawn reported that the event occurred at the conclusion of a three-day Hunar Mela organized by Thirteen Event Planners at NCS University.A girl in a tight-fitting dress was seen singing and dancing on the stage in videos that were widely circulated on social media. Users then voiced their disapproval of the event and inquired about the country's need for such occasions.
The private university was served with a show-cause notice by the KMU following the outcry, in which it was asked to explain its position regarding the "immoral" activity being held on its premises within three days.

After a video of a young girl dancing at the college function went viral on social media, KMU, which is affiliated with the NCS, stated in a letter dated October 20, 2022, that it had taken "serious notice" of the event.
It is highly objectionable to carry out such activities while displaying the KMU logo and name on the stage.During curricular and extracurricular activities, "all educational institutes are obligated to maintain ethical and moral standards and institute sanctity," it stated.
In addition, the KMU requested an explanation from the university within three days.Otherwise, "strict disciplinary action against your institute will be initiated, which may also result in your institute's de-affiliation," according to the letter.
Dr. Shaukat Ali, director of the NCS University System, apologized and attributed the problem to the event planner in a Facebook video at the same time.He claimed that after the three-day Hunar Mela, a performance by a foreign singer violated Pakistani values and culture.He claimed that the organizer of the event had failed to notify them of the singer's performance.
